When your careers site is ready to go live, you switch it from the inploi staging URL to your own domain (for example, careers.yourcompany.com). This is done by updating a DNS record. Your IT team usually handles this step.
1
Confirm your go-live date with inploi
2
Let your inploi account manager know your intended go-live date at least 48 hours in advance. They’ll confirm your site is ready and provide the CNAME value your IT team needs.
3
Ask your IT team to create a CNAME record
4
Your IT team needs to log in to your domain registrar (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or your hosting provider) and create the following DNS record:
5
  • Type: CNAME
  • Name: careers (or whatever subdomain you’re using)
  • Value: provided by your inploi account manager
  • TTL: 3600 (or “Auto”)
  • 6
    Wait for DNS propagation
    7
DNS changes can take between 15 minutes and 48 hours to take effect globally. Most changes complete within a couple of hours.
    8
    Confirm the switch with inploi
    9
Once your IT team has made the change, let your inploi account manager know. They’ll verify the domain is pointing correctly and confirm the site is live.
Your staging site (the yourcompany.inploi.app URL) continues to work after the switch. You can use it internally for testing and review at any time.
Don’t make the DNS change on a Friday afternoon. If something goes wrong, it will be harder to get support over the weekend. Aim for a Tuesday–Thursday go-live.

What to do if this doesn’t work

If the domain isn’t resolving after 48 hours:
    1. Ask your IT team to double-check that the CNAME value was entered correctly with no extra spaces or characters.
    2. Ask them to confirm the change has propagated using a tool like dnschecker.org.
    3. Contact your inploi account manager with a screenshot of the current DNS record.
